For those seeking Granada's supreme vantage point without the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds of its more famous neighbour, Mirador San Miguel Alto delivers in spades. Perched at the very top of the Albayzín hill, this viewpoint commands an uninterrupted sweep of the entire city: the Alhambra sits centre stage with the snow-capped peaks of Sierra Nevada rising behind it, while the Sacromonte valley and the sprawling modern city stretch out below in every direction.

The adjacent Hermitage of San Miguel Alto, a small whitewashed chapel dating from the 17th century, adds a sense of tranquillity and timelessness to the experience.
