About Outdoors Atlas

How we map the outdoors across Morocco, Spain & PortugalUpdated August 2025

Our mission

Great outdoor adventures across Morocco, Spain and Portugal are hard to find — buried under generic listicles and pay-to-play roundups. Outdoors Atlas exists to fix that: a curated map of the hikes, campsites, surf breaks and viewpoints actually worth the trip.

We don't list everything — we list what's worth your time. Rather than spreading thin across the map, we focus on three countries we cover in depth: Morocco, Spain and Portugal. Every entry comes with the detail you need to actually plan a trip: where to go, when to go, and what to expect when you get there.

How we choose

Not every beautiful place makes the atlas. Each location is measured against the same standards before it earns a spot.

Worth the trip

Every location earns its place. We leave out the filler so the atlas only points you toward places that reward the effort of getting there.

Vetted for accuracy

Details like seasonality, difficulty, access and the best time to go are checked before anything is published, so what you read matches what you find.

Seasonal & safety-aware

Clear difficulty ratings and best-time guidance on every entry, so you arrive prepared for the trail, the coast or the campsite ahead.

Independent

No sponsored placements and no pay-to-play. A spot makes the atlas because we think it's good — never because someone paid for it.

What we stand for

Independent & honest

We're not paid to feature anywhere. If it's in the atlas, it's because we genuinely think it's worth your time — nothing more, nothing less.

Respect for local communities

We point toward the local guides, operators and small businesses who know these places best — so your trip gives back to the people who live there.

Leave No Trace

We champion low-impact travel that keeps wild places wild — so the trails, beaches and mountains in the atlas are still here for the next adventurer.

The atlas keeps growing
