Camping Lago Barasona
Huesca, Aragón
Camping Lago Barasona is a water lover's paradise set on the shores of the Barasona Reservoir in the Huesca province of Aragón. This large, well-equipped campground takes full advantage of its stunning lakeside location, with the turquoise waters of the reservoir stretching out before a backdrop of rolling hills and the distant peaks of the Pyrenees. The setting is genuinely beautiful, combining Mediterranean light with mountain air.
Water is the star here. The reservoir offers excellent conditions for kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, and swimming, with equipment available for hire on-site. The campground's heated swimming pool is a welcome alternative when the lake breeze picks up, and it offers panoramic views across the water. On land, there are sports courts, a children's playground, and a full programme of family activities during the high season. The restaurant serves Aragonese specialities including ternasco (roast lamb) and local wines.
The surrounding area is rich in natural attractions. The Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park, famous for its dramatic canyons and world-class canyoning routes, is a short drive away. The medieval towns of Aínsa and Alquézar are among the most beautiful in Aragón, with cobbled streets and ancient stone architecture. For hikers, the trails around the reservoir offer gentle walks with rewarding views. Camping Lago Barasona offers a perfect blend of water-based activities and mountain exploration.
