Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara is one of Lisbon's grandest viewpoints, a beautifully landscaped terrace that combines formal garden elegance with one of the finest city panoramas in Europe. Located at the edge of the fashionable Príncipe Real district, the viewpoint sits at the top of the Elevador da Glória funicular, making it easily accessible from the Baixa. From its wide balustrade, the entire heart of Lisbon spreads out before you — the orderly grid of the Baixa Pombalina, the domed Teatro Nacional, the spires of the Rossio station, and the castle-crowned hill of Alfama beyond.
