Miradouro de Santa Luzia

Miradouro de Santa Luzia is arguably the most photographed viewpoint in Lisbon, and for good reason. The viewpoint is famous for its two large azulejo panels — one depicting the Praça do Comércio before the 1755 earthquake and the other showing the conquest of Lisbon by King Afonso Henriques — which frame the entrance like a ceramic storybook. From the balustrade, the Tagus River unfolds in a wide blue expanse, dotted with white sails and crossed by the Ponte 25 de Abril in the distance.
